Francheska Coenraads (b. 1997) is a Venezuelan–Dutch multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans sculpting, painting, metalworking, leatherwork/textile among other mediums, currently working on Gadigal Land, Sydney.
Francheska’s work centres on creating talismanic objects from mostly natural materials while exploring the alchemy of thought and intention forming our reality. These works act as tools, protective charms/ meditative vessels that help shift the mind away from negativity or invite a sense of peace.
Evoking humanity's innate pursuit of purpose and protection.
Growing up in life, a gathering natural charms gradually became a practice of injecting form, ethos and character into found objects, forging works that reflect an enduring curiosity to explore unseen worlds through art.
The collections become charmed ingredients for a spell.
These intentions do not imperil its entity.
